Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
