Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players following the uproar from his televised remarks.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” he continued.

He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.
