NFL 2025 season: Week six
Real-time updates includes text commentary of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , following last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their unbeaten records.
Notable in those games was the number of infractions each committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.
But it was good to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the game 21-17.
The Broncos have the top defender in CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.
They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing extra pass rushers but they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
At the start in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season well then did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's dark horses?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled big while recent RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.
That shows how the Broncos represent a squad that wants to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.
His strengths are his movement, being able to pass on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the defence to stay on the field for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.
Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win any game.
Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
